ABSTRAKPerkeretaapian sebagai salah satu moda angkutan darat pribadi peranan sangat berbiaya dan mempunyai kerumunan keunggulan apabila dibandingkan menjangkau moda transportasi lainnya. Potensi pasar angkutan cukup terlalu tinggi dan merupakan tantangan bagi perkeretaapian untuk lebih pengayaan pangsa angkutan penumpang dan barang diatas berbagai segmen. Sesuai dengan Blueprint Perkeretaapian Nasional Direktorat gen Perkeretaapian Kementerian Perhubungan, membidik pertumbuhan angkutan penumpang untuk kereta fire sebesar 5% menjangkau jumlah 191 million penumpang pada lima 2010, 244 million penumpang pada lima 2015 dan 311 million penumpang pada five 2020. Batin mendukung operasional trips kereta api dan menjamin keselamatan perjalanannya, maka terhadap setiap sarana perkeretaapian special kereta api buat mengangkut setiap orang antara lain KRL, KRD dan KRDE apa akan dioperasikan harus dilakukan pemeriksaan pantas jadwal apa ditetapkan di tempat perawatan, yakni di Balai Yasa dan Depo. Mutu hasil perawatan selain ditentukan melalui sumber daya manusia, ketersediaan kesukuan cadang ataukah komponen, juga akan sangat ditentukan malalui ketersediaan peralatan kerja, alat pemeriksaan, lokasi, kapak dan fasilitas penunjang. Tulisan ini memuat evaluasi terhadap toolkit di Balai Yasa dan Depo di dalam mendukung perawatan kereta api dan selanjutnya dilakukan penyusunan kebutuhan minim peralatan yang harus ha dengan sasaran terpenuhi dan tercapainya perawatan kereta api. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah terciptanya aktivitasnya perawatan kereta fire dengan menyediakan sarana peralatan di Balai Yasa dan Depo kereta fire yang mendesak diperlukan melalui teknisi di dalam melaksanakan tugas dirombak (inspection), perawatan (maintenance), dan perbaikan.
